Comments :  I have been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu with Garrett and the crew for about 8 months now. I am currently in the BEST shape of my life. When I started I weighed 193 lbs....I am currently down to 169 lbs. BJJ is an excellent workout for the mind as well as the body too, it gives you the confidence and positive attitude to tackle many obstacles in life, not just to be a good ground fighter(even tho this is a big plus=) I have become addicted to BJJ....I have found the ambition to workout at my local gym 3 days a week, on top of the 3 days a week at class to help my strength and improve my jiu-jitsu game. Great White Martial Arts has DEFINENTLY changed my life for the better! Thanks guys!

Comments :  I have trained with Garrett for 5 years. The knowledge he has imparted has changed my life for the better. Techniques can be taught by anyone, teaching how to flow and react can only be taught by someone who understands the application of those techniques. As an instructor Garrett possesses both of these attributes. Along with patience and a positive atmosphere the only thing holding a student back are obstacles in their own mind. Training at Great White Martial Arts will change your life for the better. How much depends on the student.

Comments :  Before I started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Great White Martial Arts I weighed over 250 pounds, I smoked, I drank frequently and over all lived a pretty unhealthy lifestyle. I now have been actively training at Great White Martial Arts for a little over a year and have lost over 30 pounds, dropped 2 pants sizes, quit smoking, gave up soda/caffeine, and have improved my quality of life over all. I have increased energy throughout the day and have increased self esteem/confidence as well. Garrett and his team are a great group of men and women and they do a great job to promote a safe and fun learning environment through top notch instruction and a positive atmosphere. I cannot say enough good things about them. Thank you Great White Martial Arts... you have improved this mans life.

Comments :  I am a 39-year-old mother of two. My sons and I have been coming to Great White to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu for about a year. I love BJJ as a system of self defense for a few reasons: 1) its effectiveness does not depend on size or strength; 2) you learn to prefer fighting on the ground (rather than panicking if you get knocked down); 3) it teaches children how to deal with bullying at school without throwing punches. Experts who study violent crime consistently report that the people who end up being targeted are the ones who appear to be lacking in self-confidence. This is true of children who are bullied at school, as well. The techniques of Brazilian jiu jitsu combined with the fun and supportive atmosphere at Great White Martial Arts are certain to build the confidence necessary to prevent most attacks--and give you the tools you need to defend yourself if you are threatened. I encourage parents to get their children enrolled, and to become involved yourselves. There are games taught during the kids' classes that are meant to be played at home. They are fun, they teach important skills for avoiding fights and restraining an aggressive opponent, and they strengthen the bond between parent and child. I can't say enough good things about Brazilian jiu jitsu, and about Great White Martial Arts!

Comments :  I have been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for three months now, and I've gotten into the best physical shape that I've been in since High School. It's a great workout and has you escape the events that you experience with your personal life since you're so focused on getting the technique and trying to perfect it. I came into the gym weighing at over 200 pounds and now I'm down to near 175 pounds; feeling more energetic and healthy. It's a fun, technical workout, and when you walk in, everybody leaves their egos at the door. You feel more comfortable than at a regular gym since everyone is so helpful and the more experienced grapplers guide you and lead you by a great example. It'll also make you a better person physically and mentally; and will give you more confidence in whatever you try to succeed at.
